of pain...of the word MEDI-CAL...of money...people...laundry...cancer...weight gain...ups and downs...
it's time for a change, and not the kind that our president is talking about. i mean REAL honest to goodness, work hard for, time for discipline... change.
starting today, i am focusing on others needs other than my own, trying to be more understanding and less negative, overlooking pain since mind over matter works better than any pain medication or shot of whiskey can do. i'm making sure every penny is spent on what God wants it to be spent on. I'm going to exercise and eat less, do a load of laundry each day... lots of changes.
i guess i am just 1 month behind a new years resolution, but at least i'm getting there.

Good girl!
Remember by taking care of yourself you can take care of others. Trust God and He will give you the strength. Anything for you, miss you.
I went through a very hard time when my husband was ill. One thing I learned is don't try to diet in such a stressful situation...I mean of course exercise and eating good will help your frame of mind and energy. But adding the stress of dieting and possible failure (not to be negative...but staying disciplined in a time of stress is SO hard!), doesn't help your situation. I learned that it's okay if the laundry sits around longer than normal, if dishes don't get done until the next day. Trying to deal with my husband's illness (worrying how much longer he'd be around), getting the kids where they needed to go (which was more places since the hubby couldn't take care of him like usual) trying to keep up on all the chores (since the hubby couldn't do his share), was beyond stressful...my health and well being took a huge nose dive and 2 years later I'm still trying to get back on track (and so is he). I just don't want you to feel the pressure "to do it all" right now. It's unrealistic. Breathe, try to relax, do what you can. It was extremely hard for me (and still is) to not have everything done.
Secondly, I have a very hard time "giving it to GOD", I just want to try to deal with it myself. Things were so bad that I had no choice but to give it to God. And I'm so glad I did. It was an amazing freeing experience. God laid it on my heart to give money to different charities (even though we weren't sure where money was ever going to come from because my husband ran out of sick leave at his job). God more than took care of us.
I hope my words were encouraging. They were meant to give you a perspective from someone who has gone through what you are going through. Please if you ever need encouraging words or someone to vent to...email me or IM me

or avonbylisa@charter.net on msn IM (this is an old email that doesn't work, but is still the one that msn recognizes). Best of Luck! and in God hands you will make it through and be stronger and better for the journey!

Wow - you were totally right today! I actually skated with my daughter. I just decided not to be afraid, and I didn't fall once. Thank you!
Thank you for your help today. It was so nice to see Randy at the Manor to see what we do. You guys are such a tremendous help and there is no way I could have done this without you guys.
Good luck on the diet thing. I'll start bringing carrots instead of chips and salsa.
